Consult the Sound Pieces and Audiovisual Materials

The sound pieces and audiovisual materials presented here were created collaboratively with partner organizations in Medellín and Bogotá as part of the project's cartotejidos and sonic cartography workshop. They bring together songs, poems, music, spoken word, environmental sounds, conversations, and other recordings shared during collective encounters.Archive Collection

Rather than serving simply as documentation, these materials reflect shared processes of memory-making, listening, and creative expression. They offer an invitation to engage with the experiences, territories, and relationships that shape the search for disappeared persons, while foregrounding the many human and more-than-human presences through which memory, care, resistance, and community continue to be woven.

Continue Engaging with the Sonic Territories of Search, Memory, and Relational Listening

Listening is approached here as a situated, relational, and necessarily partial practice, shaped by histories, lived experiences, positionalities, and relationships with both human and more-than-human worlds. Sounds, silences, and vibrations carry memory, opening possibilities for other ways of relating while reminding us that listening always exceeds what we can hear, know, or fully grasp, inviting us to continually recalibrate our listening and our relationships with human and more-than-human worlds.

The project publications and multimedia resources gathered here accompany and extend the conversations, collaborative processes, and practices of relational listening that emerged through this project. Together, they invite readers and listeners to attune to the sonic territories of la búsqueda across diverse regions of Colombia: the murmur of rivers, the rustling of trees, the whisper of the wind, the pulse of drums and the heartbeat of the earth, the breath of songs, the resonance of voices, the echoes of silence, the vibrations that move through bodies, territories, and more-than-human worlds, and the many human and more-than-human presences through which memories, relationships, and futures continue to be woven.

Rather than presenting definitive accounts, this archive invites an embodied practice of senti/escucha (feel-listening): an invitation to cultivate attentiveness to the many ways memory, disappearance, relationships, and futures are woven through sound, body-land-territories, and the pluriverse.
